before reading these articles i was confident that India was a’developing country’and my thought was confirmed when i read the first article by Jayati ghosh.
He speaks about the lack of development causing mass unemployment,”95% of all workers are in informal employment”.
this usually means that they work with small unregistered enterprises showing proof that the government are not providing a sufficient amount of jobs. Jayati also mentions that their per capita income iremains below $2,000 and that is clearly not enough to live on.
now the second article shocked me as the opening line was “india is developing at a neck breaking pace”
raka then goes on about the many new roads and highways and cars being produced. akhil paul then moves it along and speaks about the health and education in inda. 2.7million people live with disabilities in india but most of the public places are not accomidated for the disabled. it was also brought to my attention that the goverment in india spend less that 4% of their gdp on health and educucation,12% of the children aged from 5-15 suffer are affected by child labor and 2.4 million people live with hiv/aids
